Even as early as the year 1328 the "Taverne", the central inn in the town, offered accommodation for travellers. Significant for the success of the inn, which was owned by Augustiner Chorherren, was the annexed coaching inn (German: Poststation): the travellers could rest their horses here.

Later, the hotel was called "Post" – a reference to the building's earlier role. Praised by historic travel itineraries, the hotel attracted noblemen, artists and prominence for hundreds of years.

Today, the Hotel Edelweiss continues this tradition and offers contemporary living comfort, in a new, modern building, offering culinary delights and complete rest and recuperation.
