This wouldn't have happened if Peter Hettegger, an experienced hotelier from Grossarl, Austria, hadn't come to Berchtesgaden in 2005. One of his regular clients, the "Lederhosen maker from Berchtesgaden" Franz Stangassinger invited him to look round the town… Mr Hettegger immediately recognised the location's great potential and decided to build the EDELWEISS hotel and spa.
FIVE YEARS LATER – THE EDELWEISS HOTEL AND SPA WAS OPENED
Only five years after his decision to transform what had once been the "Hotel Post" into the EDELWEISS, Hettegger's project was complete and the EDELWEISS hotel and spa was opened in Berchtesgaden with great celebration.
No wonder that this place, steeped in history, has become a successful hotel. It has been run by the experienced hotelier's daughter, Martina, and her husband, Thomas, since 2010.
