A sightseeing trip to the Salzburg old town
Follow in Mozart's footsteps, visit the numerous sights in on the old town or enjoy a relaxing day of retail therapy in Salzburg's most famous streets – the Getreidegasse. The advantage of staying at the EDELWEISS is that we are only 25 kilometres from Salzburg, meaning you can be in Mozart's town in a flash!

From the Hohensalzburg Castle, to Domplatz and the house of Mozart's birth, to the Mirabell Castle… there is so much to see in Salzburg. Stroll through the world-famous Getreidegasse or, in summer, let the refreshing water of the Hellbrunn Castle trick fountains cool you down. A day out in Salzburg is well worth it!

Classical music lovers, in particular, will appreciate Salzburg. Mozart is ubiquitous in his place of birth, and both the house he was born in and the house where his family lived are open to the public. Nowadays, both houses are actually museums with exhibition pieces dedicated to the child prodigy.

Salzburg isn't only famous because of Mozart… the annual Salzburg Festival attracts visitors from across the globe. Even when the festival isn't running, the Domplatz in Salzburg is definitely worth a look. A short distance from the cathedral, you'll find the Hofstallgasse with the Felsenreitschule theatre and the festival houses.

Shopping in the Salzburg old town is a real experience! A shopping spree in the narrow Getreidegasse, with its famous gilded signs, is something else. The house Mozart was born in is also located in the Getreidegasse, making this the perfect combination of shopping and culture. A great day out!
