It all began with Stephi: eleven years ago, the trained physiotherapist came to the hotel spontaneously. “I knew there was a big pool here, so I suggested offering functional Aqua Fitness to the guests and asked for an interview,” she recalls with a laugh. “Back then, the activity program was really small!

Hotel manager Martina Hettegger was impressed after a trial class
– and Stephi was hired. Today, her Aqua Fitness classes are a permanent
and beloved part of the program.

The great thing about Aqua Fitness is that literally anyone can join in,” Stephi explains. “Whether you’re 20 or 80, whether you’re a beginner or a professional athlete – the water makes it the perfect workout.” As a physiotherapist, she adapts every exercise to each guest’s needs. “Many underestimate how intense it can be. After 30 minutes, everyone has trained hard – but the joints are perfectly protected.”

Guided hikes with Stephi

discover Lake Königssee and Berchtesgaden directly from the hotel

With Stephi, you’ll discover just how diverse an active vacation in Berchtesgaden
can be. Several times a week she leads guests on walks and hikes through her home region. “From leisurely strolls to hikes to Lake Königssee, I know countless beautiful trails,” she says. All tours start directly at the hotel, with no need
for time-consuming transfers.

Her insider tip? “The trail to the chapel at Lockstein via the old brine pipeline path. After just a short climb, you get an amazing view over Berchtesgaden and the surrounding mountains – simply magical!” Families especially love her tours, as her two Irish Setters, Paula and Elli, often come along. “The kids are always more motivated when the dogs are with us.”

By the way: Stephi’s guided hikes take place with as few as two participants – which means, with a little luck, you might enjoy an exclusive experience.

Yoga at Hotel EDELWEISS Berchtesgaden

experience mindfulness & balance on vacation in the alps

Babsi brings Far Eastern wisdom to the Bavarian Alps. The 45-year-old medical Qi Gong instructor has completed more than 340 hours of training and numerous advanced courses. She is also a certified yoga teacher and runs her own movement school in the region.

My goal is for everyone to leave class with a good body feeling,” she says calmly.
“I adapt each exercise to the group – whether they’re continuing their yoga routine on vacation or trying something completely new.”

For anyone who wants to combine movement with inner peace during their active vacation, Babsi offers Yoga and Qi Gong – gentle methods that strengthen both body and mind.

Qi Gong with Babsi

a flowing, meditative practice

Her true passion is Qi Gong – a discipline still unfamiliar to many.

“The gentle, flowing movements come from Chinese martial arts and feel almost meditative,” she explains. “In Europe, Qi Gong is already becoming popular, especially among young people. It helps with overall balance and wellbeing, eases joint pain, and can even improve digestion.”

Our tip: try it for yourself. After just five minutes, you’ll understand why these flowing movements are so fascinating.

Lisa – Yoga and Kinesiology

from the heart and with intuition

Lisa’s intuitive teaching style perfectly completes the active vacation experience at Hotel EDELWEISS: yoga for new energy and kinesiology for lasting wellbeing.

The 27-year-old from Salzburg is both a yoga teacher and a kinesiologist, combining expertise with intuition. “I can sense what people need,” Lisa explains. “Yoga is my passion.”

Her classes are always tailored to the needs of the guests. From the very first postures and breathing exercises, you feel her positive energy. With gentle adjustments and motivating words, she guides participants professionally but never strictly. Since last year, Lisa has been self-employed and offers open-air yoga sessions in the spa gardens during summer.

Yoga and Qi Gong sessions (45 minutes) take place without registration.
