In Berchtesgaden, the year is heralded in with traditional festivals such as the spring “Aperschnalzen”, Easter, the raising of the maypole and the May dance. Music and market festivals follow in summer, and autumn is characterized by cattle drives and harvest thanksgiving. The highlight is the famous Berchtesgaden Advent in December.
