Six ski areas, 50 kilometers of slopes, 1,874 meters of altitude – Berchtesgadener Land provides snow fun for young and old. The region around the Hotel EDELWEISS Berchtesgaden attracts with snow-covered peaks and slopes, idyllic snow-covered forests and romantic national park paths to varied winter sports activities. Surrounded by the imposing mountain range and the striking Watzmann peak, the Bavarian vacation destination is particularly popular with outdoor enthusiasts and families.
Winter sports enthusiasts are looking forward to the coming ski season with great anticipation. At Hotel EDELWEISS Berchtesgaden, preparations are also in full swing. At the end of November, the festive Christmas market of the municipality begins directly in front of the door, which heralds a special Advent season in the town center with its atmospheric backdrop of around 50 lovingly decorated huts, the royal castle and the historic town houses. Mulled wine, delicacies, lots of handicrafts, regional products and the lived tradition attract visitors outside.
The time after Christmas is also dedicated to winter enjoyment at the four-star superior hotel. The landscape is transformed into a picturesque winter wonderland with countless discovery tours. Snowshoe hikes through a wintry valley, hiking along the Königsseeache or whizzing down the slopes on skis – there are no limits to the variety in Berchtesgadener Land. Host Martina Hettegger recommends an excursion with the Jennerbahn to the peak of the same name at 1,874 meters above sea level, which impresses with a view of the Königssee. After an action-packed day in the mountains, winter sports enthusiasts can fortify themselves and warm up with traditional Alpine delicacies and hot chocolate at the Jenneralm. Since it is a well-known fact that the eye also eats, the panoramic view provides an additional portion of enjoyment.

From the terrace of the Hirschkaser you have a magnificent view of the Watzmann and Hochkalter, as well as the Wimbach valley in between.
Back at the hotel, guests relax in the spacious spa area and regenerate body and mind. On the top of six floors of the EDELWEISS, the spa offers a panoramic indoor pool, a sauna world and an outdoor whirlpool – with the Watzmann always in view.
Culinarily the guests are spoiled alternatively in the hotel restaurant with varied spoiling menus, in the restaurant PANORAMA in the uppermost floor of the hotel, where elevated kitchen meets a unique view, in the Italian-inspired restaurant EINKEHR in the middle in the pedestrian precinct of Berchtesgaden or in the Gasthof NEUHAUS, which convinces with traditional Bavarian Schmankerln and authentic beer garden flair directly at the market place.
From January 8 to February 16, 2023, vacationers can look forward to an attractive enjoyment package: when booking for three nights or more, they enjoy an extensive breakfast, a five-course pampering menu in the evening, a hot drink with cake or pie, and use of the spa from 330 euros per night in a double room.
