The fifth season also calls the jesters and revelers in Berchtesgadener Land to the scene. At various carnival events in the Berchtesgadener Land region in January and February, people give their laughing muscles and dancing legs a good workout. 

A popular spectacle is the Radltruh race in the center of Berchtesgaden.  From fancy outfits and can throwing to blowing up balloons and drinking a glass of schnapps – here you can experience the Berchtesgaden carnival in all its glory. Other parades in the surrounding area, such as those in Laufen and Teisendorf, are also highly recommended.
